Synopsis of psychiatric classifications
Guide
What Arlan is
Arlan is a synopsis of psychiatric classifications: DSM-5, DSM-5-TR, ICD-10, and ICD-11 aligned diagnosis by diagnosis, their differences marked and numbered, each passage linked to the book’s page.
A synopsis sets texts in columns so that their likenesses and differences can be compared.
Who Arlan is for: psychiatrists, residents, psychologists, coders, and educators. Arlan does not make diagnoses.
In practice
- Find: type a diagnosis name, an acronym, or a code in the search (Searching).
- Compare: for each book, the comparison gives the diagnosis’s presence, its codes, and its page, then the numbered differences, section by section (Reading a comparison).
- Browse: the Explorer lays out a classification as a tree and counts, family by family, what changed from one edition to the next.
- Cite: the Share menu of a comparison copies the citation of a book or of Arlan, and the codes (Citing).
